Brooklyn man featured in Time immigration story arrested child porn charges
Roy Naim has been ordered held without bail after being arrested on child pornography charges.
A Brooklyn man featured in a Time magazine cover story on immigration reform was arrested Wednesday on child pornography charges.
Roy Naim, 29, who bills himself as an immigration activist, allegedly downloaded at least three illicit videos featuring underage boys from the website of another sicko based in Louisiana who made the porn, a complaint filed in Brooklyn Federal Court says.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Saritha Komatireddy said the defendant was soliciting others to produce kiddie porn and was a risk to flee to Israel.
Naim emigrated from Israel at age 3 and is an undocumented alien. He has actively lobbied Congress on immigration issues, his lawyer said.

“He’s still in limbo. . . He wants to be an American citizen,” lawyer Richard Finkel said.
Naim was one of 35 undocumented immigrants featured in Time’s June 25, 2012, issue, under the headline “We Are Americans.”
He was ordered held without bail.
